Final Reflection

If I could say with one phrase how this course changed me, I would say is “getting better”. I entered to this course with the expectations to improve my public speaking, to have a better control to myself when in front of an audience, besides of practicing my English, however not only I reached my expectations but I could also learned how to organize my thoughts, the proper way of expressing certain grammar structures, more vocabulary, and also read some very interesting stories. Now I feel more confident that when the time comes, I will be able to test my English skills properly, and have no limitations for it.

I also, had a lot of fun, being in this group made me very comfortable, I think I met kind people in here, and we all had some fun doing the teamwork assignments.

Reflection Third Month

In this month, I felt like a gained a lot of practice with grammatical structures, I usually have a lot of trouble because I get confused and I blunder when I speak or write.  But this time I learned to use conditionals correctly. I also finally had the chance to learn the cases in which you use "make" or "do", now I know I have been saying a lot of phrases incorrectly, but not anymore, now I feel wit with these grammatical structures. Although adverb clauses are still giving me a hard time.

I also really enjoyed the short stories, "The Necklace" and "The Lady or the Tiger", those are really interesting stories with interesting backgrounds, knowing the life of the author gives the story a different tonality.

Reflection About Didier Drogba´s Activism

Didier Drogba is a person worthy of recognition not only because of his football carreer, but also his commitment to society and his people. Besides of creating hisown fundation and improving health in the Ivory Coast, I find that the most astonishing thing he has done is stopping a civil war only by asking for peace. This is the power that a person with fame and that the media has. And it is gratifying they have used this power to do good.

I also admire him because he started by playing on the street without shoes when he was a kid, I believe that´s why he is so humble, because he has experienced suffering and poverty.

I think we can all learn from him, by not focusing only on ourselves, that would be being selfish, but we should always consider others and do our best to help. As Didier Drogba does.

Texting and Driving

The recreation of a speech given by me and my partner.

Doing it for the Ride

A hero who doesn´t like being a hero. He has never intended to be a hero, but he has seved many people. But why? Because he only does what he thinks is right, he doesn´t stand injustice, so he hasn´t saved many for the fame or the feeling of accomplishment, he just does it because he believes that it is the right thing to do. And he believes in doing it.

His name is Monkey D. Luffy, and he is the captain of a pirate crew. He seeks the biggest treasure in the world, the "One Piece". Whoever finds it, will become The King. Don´t we do something like that? Having a big goal and seeking to accomplish it?

The funny ting is that, he doesn´t look the treasure for the treausre iself, he seeks it for the path he has to take in order to find it. He believes taking that path will give him freedom, and that is his most valuable treasure, and that is the lesson he has taught me. We should not seek our goals for the goal itself, but for the path we take.

"Happiness is not a destination; it´s a way of life".
